(Taichung News) The Local Taxation Bureau of the Taichung City Government stated that people who want to change houses, as long as the new and old houses meet the repurchase tax refund conditions, they can use the "repurchase tax rebate" to save taxes and apply for a refund of the land value-added tax paid on the sale of the house. However, recently, some people have moved out their entire household registration after the repurchase tax refund was approved, and the tax authorities have pursued the original tax refund.

The bureau stated that after the repurchase tax rebate is approved, the newly purchased land will be placed under management for 5 years. During the 5 years of the control period, if it is transferred or used for other purposes, such as for business use, leasing out others, or moving out of household registration, etc. In the event of such a situation, the original tax refund will be recovered.

The Bureau reminds the public that if the repurchased household registration needs to be moved out, at least one of the land owner himself or his spouse or any one of his immediate family members must be kept in the original household registration to meet the requirements for self-use housing and avoid being charged taxes.
